Members of the Lexington/West Kill UMC, East Jewett UMC and Kaaterskill UMC met on May 23 under the pavilion in Lexington for Heritage Sunday. JoEllen Schermerhorn spoke on the history of the Spruceton UMC, the West Kill UMC and Lexington UMC — at one time all separate churches. Nancy Allen gave background information on Kaaterskill and Gerry Loucks shared history about East Jewett and the Mountain Top. Pastor Tom also spoke and offered prayer. On display were photographs and history of all the churches. Was an extremely interesting afternoon spent in wonderful fellowship.
The HTC Class of 2026 will be holding a Car Wash 9 a.m.-1 p.m. May 29 at the Hunter-Tannersville Elementary School. Cost will be a donation. Thanks to Williams Lumber for their donation to the Class of 2026.
The first Lexington Farmers’ Market of the 2021 season will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. May 29 under the pavilion at the Lexington Municipal Building, 3542 Route 42. The regular market farms and producers will be back with great products and new items. There will also be new vendors joining the market. There will be maple syrup, eggs, honey, cheeses, mushrooms, products for hair and skin, guest local crafts people and so much more. Market will be held every other Saturday into October.
On Memorial Day, May 31, the Lexington Fire/Rescue Company will assemble at the Community Hall in West Kill and a service held at 9 a.m. Following the service, the Fire Company will march to the cemetery in the hamlet and end at the Memorial Monument/flagpole by Route 42 and Spruceton Road. Return to the West Kill Fire Station and enjoy some ice cream that will be provided by the Lexington Fire Co.

Town of Lexington Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary meets at 7 p.m. June 8 in the Firemen’s Room.
The Town of Lexington Historical society will present “Paul Trotta’s Native American Tool Talk” at 3 p.m. June 26 under the pavilion at the Lexington Municipal Building, 3542 Route 42. See and hear about the tools used by New York State Native American during the Prehistoric Era. There will be a short meeting before the presentation. Refreshments will follow. Everyone attending will be eligible for the door prize.
With the warm weather now here, please do not leave your pets in a vehicle unattended. Even with the windows slightly open, the vehicle becomes unbearable in minutes.
