Anne C. O’Dowd

Anne C. O’Dowd, (nee Kelly) passed away peacefully Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the age of 84 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 1, 1935 in Brooklyn, N.Y. and was a devoted mother and loving wife. Anne was pre-deceased by her husband of 50 years John (Hook) O’Dowd and by her two sisters, Mary and Patricia.

Anne was a Life Member of The Round Top Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, The American Legion Mohican Post -983 Ladies Auxiliary, The Greene County Women’s Cancer League, Cairo Golden Age Club and member of Cairo’s Sacred Heart Parish. Anne enjoyed her Wednesday night out to BINGO at the Catskill Elks Lodge, her senior bus trips and loved to travel either alone or with family and friends. She is survived by her loving son John and his wife Eleanor, her grandson Sean and his fiancée Brandi Schneider, along with her granddaughter Kathryn.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo, N.Y. on Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 P.M. and also from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. The Round Top Ladies Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will conduct services at the funeral home Thursday evening at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 26, 2020, at The Sacred Heart Church, Cairo, N.Y., at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow in the family plot of The Round Top Cemetery, Round Top, N.Y. next to her late husband. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anne’s memory may be made to The Round Top Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, P.O. Box - 142, Round Top, N.Y. 12473.
