Sew It! Workshop and Take Home Craft - Make a Falling Leaves Pillow Nov, 1 through Nov. 30. Register to receive a project kit and a link to a virtual hand sewing workshop during November. Ellen Lumpkin Brown, owner of Sew It! Workshop will guide you in a tutorial on sewing and creating a Falling Leaves Pillow. For 7-14. Contact Becky at kleinr@chatham.k12.ny.us to register.

Lego Club at 4 p.m. Nov. 1 and Nov. 15. Join the Lego Club for 5 and older. What will you build today? Perhaps something the library can show in its display case. Monday Book Club on Zoom

Memoir Writers Group 10:30 a.m. Nov. 2 and Nov. 16. The Memoir Writers come from a wide range of life experience, and gather online to share and hone their work. Fiction and poetry writers are welcome, too. Contact the library for more information.

Chatham Roots Genealogy Club at 3 p.m. Nov. 4. Space for this online program is limited. For information and the zoom link, please contact Michelle LeClair at michelle@leclairdesign.com. A free monthly genealogy club to assist in the search for your family. For beginners, experts and everyone in between. We will work on those elusive ancestors, break down your brick walls, share tips and tricks and just have fun. The group is led by Michelle LeClair.

The A, B, C, and D’s of Medicare at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 9. Space is limited and advance registration is required at bit.ly/CPLMedicare. USA Medicare Consultants (a division of EP Nevins Insurance Agency Inc.) is hosting an educational presentation on understanding the basics of Medicare which includes the difference between Original Medicare, Supplemental and Advantage plans. Whether you will be new to Medicare or are reassessing your current coverage for 2022, they will be available to answer your questions. This program will be held indoors, upstairs at the library. Masks are required at all times inside the library building, with the exception of children under the age of 2.

Health Care Navigator 1-4 p.m. Dec. 9. The Library will be closed on Nov. 11. Next Health Care Navigator sessions are scheduled for Dec. 9. Navigators assist individuals, families, small businesses and small business employees in Columbia and Greene Counties with shopping for, comparing, and enrolling in quality affordable health insurance, including Medicaid and Child Health Plus, through New York State of Health: the Official Health Plan Marketplace. Navigators can also assist with applying for financial assistance to help pay for coverage. Navigator services are free of charge. For information, or to make an appointment, 518-822-9600.

Adult Take and Make Kits: Mulling and Chai Spices. Pick up Nov. 15 through Nov. 30 at the Library while supplies last. Learn about the origin and history of mulling and chai tea spices and pick up a few recipes and inspiration to go along with your DIY spice mix kits.

Chair Yoga: Stretch, Strength & Balance 4-5 p.m. Tuesdays Nov. 16 through Dec. 21 via Zoom. Chair Yoga is a free six week series for anyone who would like to support a healthy body and mind…the only requirement is a chair. The practice of yoga has been shown to improve flexibility and range of motion, improve balance, support healthy joints by building muscle strength, enhance breathing, and promote mental calmness. Chair yoga creates a safe space for movement and balance, sitting and standing (using the chair for balance as needed). Participants are encouraged to use an armless chair on a non-skid surface and to wear comfortable loose clothing and sneakers, non-skid footwear, or barefeet. Instructor Kathy Schneider-Doyle, MS, RN, AEA, RYT 200 has been a community health nurse for 43 years and an instructor in aquatics and yoga for over ten years.

Meet the Presidents: A Look at the American Presidency with New York Historical Society Docent Stephanie Nigito at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 via Zoom. Discover the evolution of the presidency and executive branch and how presidents have interpreted and fulfilled their leadership role with exhibition highlights from Meet the Presidents. Highlights include the actual Bible used during George Washington’s inauguration in 1789 and a student scrapbook from 1962 chronicling John F. Kennedy’s leadership during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
