GREENPORT — The Warriors beat the Rattlers 6-5 in walk-off fashion in the Hudson River Collegiate Baseball League’s lone game Thursday evening.
Peter Rogers took home the win for the Warriors after holding the Rattlers to one run on five hits, a walk, and three strikeouts over 4 2/3.
Carter Bach was tagged with the loss after he surrendered the winning run in the ninth, and gave up two hits, walked two, and struck out two over 1 1/3.
Josh Bisaillon went 3-for-4 for the Rattlers in the loss, and Riley Nagle went 2-for-2 with a triple and a run scored. Isiah Tucker and Sean Berry each had a hit, an RBI, and a run scored for the Rattlers as well, and Nathan Toms had a hit in four trips and three RBIs.
Elijah Barines had a 2-for-5 with three RBIs and scored once for the Warriors, and had the game winning RBI single in the ninth to win the game. Noah Scanlon-Dean had two hits in three tries and scored twice to help out the Warriors’ offense, and Ben Catrambone went 1-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
Nagle led off the game with a triple in the top of the first for the Rattlers, and he stayed put on a fly out to center by Sean Berry. Nathan Toms came up and hit a ball a little deeper than the last one, and it went for a sacrifice fly and an RBI as Nagle tagged and scored.
Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Elijah Barines and Noah Scanlon-Dean both got aboard to start the inning for the Warriors. Ben Catrambone got up and made a productive out on a ground ball to second, and one run scored after a previous stolen base to tie the game 1-1. Bennett Cohen followed suit for the Warriors and grounded out to short to score another run and give them a 2-1 lead.
With two outs in the bottom of the third, Scanlon-Dean kept things going with a double for the Warriors. Catrambone stepped into the box again, and slapped an RBI base hit to increase their lead to 3-1.
In the top of the fifth, Lorenzo Gannon and John Laporte worked walks before and after an Aaron Guay strikeout and the Rattlers looked to take advantage.
Isiah Tucker was next and he pulled a grounder through the right side and past the gloves of the first and second basemen. Gannon rounded third and crossed the plate on the play and the Rattlers cut the lead to 3-2.
Peter Rogers came in to pitch for the Warriors, and gave up an RBI single to Sean Berry immediately and the game was tied 3-3. The torch was passed to Nathan Toms and he roped a pitch into the gap for a two-run double to give the Rattlers a 5-3 lead.
CJ Latham led off the Warriors’ seventh and reached safely thanks to an error by the first baseman. Nick Shoemaker moved him to second with a base hit to get the Warriors a first and second situation with nobody out.
With one out in the inning, Jacob Bonesteel got a base hit to load the bases for the Warriors as they looked to do some damage. Richie Tamsett struck out for out number two, but then Elijah Barines reached on an error by the shortstop and two runs scored on the play to tie the game 5-5. Scanlon-Dean worked a walk to reload the bases, but Catrambone flew out to center field to end the frame.
With the game still tied in the bottom of the ninth, Shoemaker worked a leadoff walk, and Will Baumann followed it up with a base hit. Bonesteel struck out for the first out, but Tamsett walked to load the bases and get the winning run to third base.
With the count one ball and two strikes, Barines delivered an RBI base hit to score Shoemaker from third and win the game. After blowing an early lead, the Warriors came back from 5-3 to tie it, and won on the Barines RBI single in the bottom of the ninth 6-5.
The HRCBL has three make-up games remaining this Saturday before the playoffs begin next week on Tuesday.

The Schuylerville Stallions 10U overcame a four-run deficit to earn a 4-4 tie with the Greene County Outlaws 9+ in Thursday’s travel baseball game.
JJ Shah, Caleb Frisbee and Ethan Lenzo all singled and drove in a run for the Outlaws (11-5-1). Chris Brown doubled and Braden Martin and Carter Chase each had a single.
Maks Drukarczyk (8k,1h), Frisbee (3k,4bb,4r,2h) and Austin Bashford (2k,1bb) split the pitching duties for the Outlaws.
