GIRLS SOCCER: Greenville girls finish regular season unbeaten

CASTLETON — Greenville withstood a strong challenge from Maple Hill to earn a 2-0 overtime victory over the Wildcats and wrap up the Patroon Conference girls soccer regular-season title on Saturday.

Greenville finishes the regular season title with a 7-0 mark and is the top seed in this week’s season-ending Patroon Conference Tournament. The Spartans will take on No. 4 Cairo-Durham on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Taconic Hills High School. No. 3 seed Maple Hill will play No. 2 seed Chatham at 4:30 p.m., also on Tuesday at Taconic Hills. The two winners will meet on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Taconic Hills High School.

Neither team was able to score in regulation on Saturday, but the Spartans received goals from Ella Mulholland with 9:11 to go in the first OT, then Ella Grupe connected with 2:50 remaining in the second 10-minute extra session to seal the deal. Grupe also assisted on Mulholland’s goal.

Greenville goalkeeper Chole Ross stopped six shots in recording the shutout. Mia Fleck had three saves for Maple Hill.

Chatham 6, Cairo-Durham 1

EAST DURHAM — The Chatham girls soccer team scored five unanswered second-half goals to defeat Cairo-Durham, 6-1, in Friday’s Patroon Conference game.

Eighth-grader Addison Perry and senior Hannah Taylor both had two goals for the Panthers. Maya Narofsky and Abby Taylor had 1 goal apiece and Gabby Fisher contributed 2 assists.

Abigail Brandow scored Cairo-Durham’s goal.

Chatham improves to 6-1, while Cairo-Durham falls to 3-3-1.

Taconic Hills 2, Hudson 1

HUDSON — Taconic Hills posted a 2-1 victory over Hudson in Friday’s Patroon Conference girls soccer game

Hudson honored its three seniors: Melina Jeune, Abby Jepsen and Noshin Tasnim. Jeune had a busy night in goal for the Bluehawks, stopping 21 shots.

Choumaya Box scored Hudson’s only goal on a penalty kick.

Catskill 3, Coxsackie-Athens 0

CATSKILL — Catskill finished its season with a 3-0 victory over Coxsackie-Athens in Saturday’s Patroon Conference girls soccer game.

Jillian Murray, Madison Hallam and Hailey Rowell all scored a goal for the Cats. Murray added an assist.

Amaia Sisto is credited with the shutout for Catskill.

The Cats finished the season at 2-4-1.
