To the editor:
I would like to say how much I appreciate your “Our View” for bringing the Energy Innovation Act to the attention of the readers earlier this month. It is far too long that this type of legislation has sat in congress and not been acted upon. One only needs to look at the continuing warmer and warmer weather month after month, year after year. We are increasingly seeing the effects of this warming with more floods, droughts, heavy rain, lack of snow, wildfires, and the economic problems created by all this all around the world and especially those that can least afford it.
As a member of the Citizens Climate Lobby, member of the Taghkanic CAC and CSC Task Force and a retired Earth and Environmental Science teacher I feel that this cannot wait any longer. Changes in our climate are taking place much faster than earlier anticipated. We must act now to hold the consequences of Climate Change to a minimum, for all of us.
