I do not answer phone calls when I do not recognize the name or number on the caller ID. I let the answering machine pick it up. But the scammers can use a local name and number, you answer it and it is a scam call. The call I got the other day and that was on my answering machine, was from Investigator (I could not understand his name) saying that my winning contest number was stolen and I had to call him back right away. I don’t enter contests so pretty darn sure it wasn’t my — or anyone else’s — “winning number” that was stolen.

Prayers for our country, our leaders, all essential workers, police, firefighters, EMS, health care providers, military and their families. Please treat each other with compassion, courtesy, dignity, respect and kindness. All lives matter.
