COXSACKIE — We are looking forward to providing visitors with an opportunity to explore 350 years of Hudson Valley History. The Bronck farmstead was established in 1663 by the Swedish sailor Pieter Bronck and his Dutch wife Hilletje Jans. The farmstead was owned by Pieter and Hilletje’s direct descendants until 1939. The last family owner gave the farmstead to the Greene County Historical Society which has operated the farmstead as a historic house museum for the last 80 years.
The 2021 season opens this Saturday May 29th and concludes on October 15th and includes both regularly scheduled guided tours of the museum’s historic interiors as well as several special events scheduled throughout the season. The 2021 Summer Sunday Series will feature live music and historic programming plus an evening event in August held by the light of the Silvery Moon, and the Heritage Craft Fair in October.
Scheduled guided tours are offered by prior reservations Wednesday - Saturday at 11AM, 1PM and 3PM and most Sundays at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Picnic area and restrooms available on site.
