TRAVEL BASEBALL: Rossano, Blackhawks shut down Gators

Brandon Rossano fired a four-hit shutout with six strikeouts as the ENY Blackhawks 15U defeated the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Gators, 3-0, in Sunday’s Fall Travel Baseball game.

Nolan Space had two singles and an RBI for the Blackhawks. Rossano singled and drove in a run, Sam Buquet singled and Gavin Hartka drove in a run.

Blackhawks 7, N. Colonie 5

Sam Buquet went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBI and was the winning pitcher in the ENY Blackhawks’ 7-5 victory over the North Colonie Bison in Saturday’s Fall Travel Baseball game.

Gavin Hartka had a double and single for the Blackhawks. Scott Sleurs and Kyle Danforth each had two singles and Dom Pelizza, Gabe Carpenter and Devin Scali all singled.

Sleurs (3k,1bb,4r,5h) pitched three innings and Buquet (5k,3bb,1r,2h) threw the last four for the Blackhawks.

Berkshire sweeps Clippers

The Berkshire Baseball Club swept Sunday’s Fall Travel Baseball doubleheader with the Columbia Clippers 15U, taking the first game, 1-0 and the second, 9-3.

In the first game, Ashton Hotaling allowed two hits and surrendered just a first-inning run in taking the loss. He struck out seven and walked four.

The Clippers managed just one hit, a single off the bat of Antonio Troy.

In the nightcap, Skylar Laurange belted two doubles and drove in two runs for the Clippers. LJ Morse added a double, Hunter Kelly had two singles and Ashton Hotaling and Antonio Troy singled.

Chase Morrison, Kelly and LJ Morse combined on the mound for the Clippers, striking out eight, walking 13 and allowing nine runs and three hits.


Clippers 17, Cohoes 3

Troy Super went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI to lead the Columbia Clippers 16U to a 17-3 victory over the Cohoes Blackhawks in Saturday’s Fall Travel Baseball game.

Jack Mullins and Brady Holzhauer both doubled and drove in three runs for the Clippers. Matt Buono added two singles and three RBI, Tyler Van Allen and Shawn Lyons both singled and drove in a run and Kyke Bartlett and Mitchel Keegan both had a single.

Bartlett (3k,2bb,2r,3h), Zach Rowe (4k,1r,4h) and Super (2k,1bb) all pitched for the Clippers.


Clippers 9, Hudson Valley 8

Liam Mullins drew a bases loaded walk with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap off a three-run rally and give the Columbia Clippers 14U a 9-8 victory over the Hudson Valley Indians 14U in Sunday’s Fall Travel Baseball game.

Logan Fink went 3 for 3 with two doubles and two RBI for the Clippers. Cameron Newkirk doubled and drove in two, Colton Hutson had a double and single with two RBI, Liam Mullins singled and drove in a run and Thomas Pierro, Ely Pearce and Callan Heimroth singled.

Mullins (4k,2bb,2r,2h), Dylan Dibble (5k,2bb,2r,3h) and Heimroth (3bb,4r,2h) all pitched for the Clippers.


Clippers 5, RC Clippers 3

Charlie Schrader blasted a three-run homer and four pitchers combined to throw a one-hitter as the Columbia Clippers 13U defeated the RC Clippers, 5-3, in Sunday’s Fall Travel Baseball game.

Avery Ackerly had two singles for the Columbia Clippers. Gannon Logue and Maky Kirby both singled and drove in a run and Jacob Alvarez and Hunter Nielsen singled.

Kirby (3k,1r), Ackerly (1r,1h), Ryan Conte (4k,5bb,2r) and Brayden Jause (2bb) all had a turn on the mound for the Clippers.


Clippers 14, Devil Cats 14

Braeden Barnes collected two singles and four RBI as the Columbia Clippers 11U battled to a 14-14 tie with the Devil Cats 11U in Sunday’s Fall Travel Baseball game.

Ryan Link added a double to the Clippers ‘ attack. Keegan Mullins contributed a single and two RBI, Briscoe and Tanner Kelly each had a single and an RBI and Evan Conte singled.

Conte (3k,6bb,7r,2h), Barnes (4bb,4r) and Mullins (1k,1bb,3r,4h) all pitched for the Clippers.


Blackhawks 17

ValleyCats 16

The ENY Blackhawks 10+ posted a 17-16 victory over the Nassau-Shatford ValleyCats 10+ in Saturday’s Fall Travel Baseball game.

Jayden Spadaccini went 3 for 5 with three runs scored for the Blackhawks. Dewey Hoff singled, drove in a run and scored four runs and Ayden Rote went 2 for 2 with an RBI and scored four runs.

Jayden Spadaccini and Dewey Hoff combined for the win on the mound. Spadaccini struck out 11 in 4 2/3 innings and Hoff struck out 3 in 1 1/3 innings, including the last two batters with the tying run on third base.


Outlaws 15, Devils Cats 5

Griffin Roth doubled, singled and scored two runs as the Greene County Outlaws 9+ topped the Devil Cats 9U, 15-5, in Sunday’s Fall Travel Baseball game.

Maks Drukarczyk singled, scored two runs and drove in a run for the Outlaws. Kaden Paterson and Carter Chase singled and scored a run, Austin Bashford scored three runs, Ethan Lenzo scored two runs and Braden Martin, Stosh Yusko, Ethan Peters and JJ Shah scored a run.

Chase (9k,2bb,2r,1h), Lenzo (1k,5bb,3r,1h) and Stosh Yusko shared mound duties for the Outlaws.
