The Oil City Steel Madigan 14U scored three runs in the first inning and went on to win the Bash At The Beach Baseball Tournament championship with a 13-2 victory over the ENY Blackhawks on Sunday night.

The loss was the first of the season for the Blackhawks (11-1), who played four games in a span of 20 hours in the tournament from Saturday night through Sunday night.

Max Frering had a double and single with an RBI for the Blackhawks. Gavin Hartka doubled, Jacob Macfarlane singled and drove in a run and Tyler Peck singled.

Brandon Rossano (7k,1bb, 11r, 9h) and Dom Pelizza (1k,1bb,2r,2h) pitched for the Blackhawks.

Blackhawks 12 Beast Gray 3

Devin Scali went 3 for 3 with a home run, two singles and four RBI as the ENY Blackhawks 14U defeated Beast 14U Gray, 12-3, in the semifinals of the Bash at the Beach Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

Brandon Rossano tripled and drove in four runs for the Blackhawks (11-0). Dom Pelizza tripled and singled and drove in a run, Max Frering doubled, Gabe Carpenter had two singles, Jacob Macfarlane singled and Kyle Danforth had an RBI.

Sam Buquet pitched 4 2/3 innings for the Blackhawks, striking out four, walking four and allowing three runs and five hits. Danforth finished up, striking out one and walking two.

Blackhawks 13, Bethage 1

The ENY Blackhawks 14U continued play in the Bash at the Beach Tournament on Long Island with a 13-1 victory over the Bethpage Eagles on Sunday morning.

The game was stopped after four innings because of the 10-run rule.

Devin Scali doubled and drove in three runs and Tyler Peck and Sam Buquet both doubled and drove in two runs for the Blackhawks (10-0). Gabe Carpenter and Jacob Macfarlane singled and drove in a run, Max Frering and Brandon Rossano singled and Gavin Hartka and Kyle Danforth each had an RBI.

Dom Pelizza pitched three innings for the Blackhawks, striking out seven, walking two and allowing one hit. Hartka finished up, walking one and allowing one hit and one run.

Blackhawks 21, Dodger Griffin 1

Tyler Peck went 3 for 3 with a triple, double and five RBI as the ENY Blackhawks 14U remained unbeaten with a 21-1 win over Dodger Nation Griffin on Saturday night in the Bash at the Beach Tournament.

Max Frering had a double and single with an RBI for the Blackhawks (9-0). Brandon Rossano added a single and three RBI, Dom Pelizza a single and an RBI, Jacob Macfarlane singled, Gabe Carpenter had two RBI and Sam Buquet and Devin Scali each had an RBI.

Kyle Danforth, Frering, Carpenter and Macfarlane all pitched for the Blackhawks, striking out four, walking four and allowing one run and three hits.

Blackhawks 7, LI Dodgers1

Brandon Rossano went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and pitched two innings of shutout ball with 4 strikeouts as the ENY Blackhawks defeated the Long Island Dodgers, 7-1, on Friday night in the Bash at the Beach Tournament.

Dom Pelizza had 3 singles for the Blackhawks (8-0). Kyle Danforth added 2 singles and an RBI, Gabe Carpenter had 2 singles, Jacob Macfarlane singled and drove in two runs, Tyler Peck doubled and drove in a run and Max Frering, Sam Buquet, Devin Scali and Gavin Hartka all singled.

Buquet (5k), Scali (2k,2bb,1r,2h), Hartka (1bb,2h) and Carpenter also pitched for the Blackhawks.

Waterford 6, Outlaws 4

The Waterford Nationals 15U overcome an early 4-1 deficit to defeat the Greene County Outlaws 15U, 6-4, in Sunday’s travel baseball game at McQuade Park.

Nate Shook-Timot doubled and drove in a run for the Outlaws. Shane DeRose had two singles and two RBI, Andrew Sager contributed two singles, Jake Miller singled and drove in a run and Brodie Montgomery singled.

Montgomery (2k,3bb,2r,2h), Christian Tedford (1k,4bb,3r,2h) and Shook-Timot (1bb,1r,1h) all pitched for the Outlaws.

Outlws 7, Upper Deck 4

Andrew Sager went 3 for 4 with an RBI and pitched five solid innings to lead the Greene County Outlaws 14U to a 7-4 victory over the Upper Deck Titans in Saturday’s travel baseball game.

Ty Van Valkenburg ripped a double and single for the Outlaws. Zach Russell doubled and drove in a run, Zak Wagor had two singles and an RBI, Jaesen Hoop singled and drove in two, Zane Devries-Lepson singled and drove in a run and Alex Slater drove in a run.

Sager struck out nine, walked three and allowed three runs and four hits in five innings. Sam Launer threw the last two innings, striking out two, walking one and allowing one run and one hit.

Blackhawks 11, Galway 8

Christian Abrams blasted a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the ENY Blackhawks 13U+ an 11-8 win over the Galway Eagles on Sunday.

Logan Bower doubled and drove in a run for the Blackhawks 13U+. Patrick Graziano added two singles and an RBI and Kiah Pinto and Alan Hamilton both singled.

Pinto, Bower and Abrams all pitched for the Blackhawks, striking out 13, walking four and allowing eight runs and four hits.

Waterford 8, Clippers 0

The Columbia Clippers 13U dropped an 8-0 decision to the Waterford Nationals in Friday’s travel baseball game.

Liam Mullins and Dan Wiese singled to account for the Clippers only hits.

Logan Fink and Dylan Dibble pitched for the Clippers, combing for four strikeouts and three walks while allowing eight runs and 12 hits.

Vipers 7, Clippers 0

The Mohawk Valley Vipers posted a 7-0 victory over the Columbia Clippers 12U+ Blue in Sunday’s travel baseball game.

Maky Kirby led the Clippers with a pair of singles. Cameron Newkirk, Thomas Pierro, Hunter Nielsen, Tyler Sheldon and Brody Adickes all singled. Nielsen and Kirby shared pitching duties for the Clippers, allowing seven runs and nine hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

Clippers 6, Berkshire 5

The Columbia Clippers 12U+ Blue overcame a two-run deficit with four runs in the fifth inning and went on to edge the Berkshire Bulldogs, 6-5, in Saturday’s travel baseball game.

Thomas Pierro belted a solo homer to lead the Clippers’ eight-hit attack. Maky Kirby had two singles, Hunter Nielsen and Colton Hutson both singled and drove in a run and Cameron Newkirk, Xavier Castle and Aidan Buchinsky all singled.

Kirby, Tyler Sheldon and Buchinsky combined to strike out five, walk six and allow five runs and five hits for the Clippers.

Outlaws 9, Guilderland 7

The Greene County Outlaws 11+ won their 14th game without a loss on Sunday, handing the Guilderland Bulldogs a 9-7 setback.

Cameron Van Alphen blasted a solo homer for the Outlaws. Caden Boomhower had three singles and two RBI, Chris Hughes ripped two doubles and Sawyer Sitcer singled and drove in a run.

Hughes and Van Alstyne combined for the win, striking out six, walking three and allowing seven runs and nine hits.

Upper Deck 7, Clippers 5

Two Upper Deck Titans 10+ pitchers held the Columbia Clippers 10U hitless en route to a 7-5 victory in the June Madness Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

Logan Burleigh scored two runs for the Clippers. Ryan Link, Jayden Brantley and Ethan Brennan each scored a run.

Amarion Perry (5k,3bb,7r,5h) and Keegan Mullins (2k,1bb,1h) pitched for the Clippers.

Clippers 5, South Troy 3

Mason Briscoe fired a complete game two-hitter as the Columbia Clippers 10U defeated the South Troy Dodgers, 5-3, in the semifinals of the June Madness Tournament on Sunday.

Briscoe struck out four and walked two in going the distance for the win.

Briscoe helped his own cause with a double. Jayden Brantley added a single and an RBI and Tanner Kelly, Keegan Mullins and Braeden Barnes all singled.

Clippers 8, TC Bombers 7

Tanner Kelly scored on an error with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to give the Columbia Clippers 10U an 8-7 victory over the TC Bombers in Saturday’s June Madness Tournament game.

Logan Burleigh led the Clippers with double, two singles and two RBI. Amarion Perry added two singles. Trent Sayles, Mason Briscoe and Evan Conte all singled and drove in a run, Jayden Brantley and Keegan Mullins both singled and Braeden Barnes drove in a run.

Sayles pitched the first five innings for the Clippers, striking out four, walking four and allowing five runs and three hits. Conte threw the last four innings, giving up two runs and two hits with five strikeouts.

Outlaws 11, Bethlehem 10

Chris Brown singled in Ethan Peters with the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth as the Greene County Outlaws 8U edged the Bethlehem Eagles Orange, 11-10, on Sunday for their seventh straight victory.

The Outlaws led 10-2 after four innings, but Bethlehem rallied with a run in the fifth and seven in the sixth to even the score.

In the bottom of the sixth, Peters walked and JJ Shah was hit by a pitch, setting the table for Brown.

Brown finished with an inside-the-park home run, two singles and five RBI. Austin Bashford added a double and single with two RBI, Madi Van Alphen had two singles and two RBI, Ethan Lenzo contributed two singles and Kaden Paterson and Carter Chase singled.

Chase, Lenzo, Brown, Van Alphen and Peters all pitched for the Outlaws, allowing 10 runs and five hits with 12 strikeouts and 15 walks.

Outlaws 13, Clifton Park 3

Madi Van Alphen singled and drove in four runs and combined with three other pitchers on a no-hitter to lead the Greene County Outlaws 8U to a 13-3 victory over the Clifton Park Plainsmen Green in Friday’s travel baseball game.

JJ Shah had a single and two RBI for the Outlaws. Braden Martin singled, Ethan Peters had two RBI and Ethan Lenzo and Austin Bashford each had an RBI.

Van Alphen (3k,4bb,2r), Carter Chase (6k,1bb,1r) and Andrew Favicchio (1k,3bb) all pitched for the Outlaws.
