PAUL SMITHS — Taconic Hills golf standout Madison Bentley will be continuing his academic and athletic career at Paul Smiths College in the Fall.
Bentley, who will be studying forestry, joins the Bobcats after competing for Coach Joe Raco at Taconic Hills High School. Bentley, a varsity golfer since seventh grade, has led his team to two conference titles and to the sectional tournament 4 times. Individually, Bentley has earned the Patroon Conference MVP and was a first-team All-Conference golfer.
“Madison is a hard working, dedicated and accomplished golfer that will succeed at the collegiate level and beyond because of the talent and passion for golf and desire to be a better golfer and person.” Paul Smiths coach Rod Bushey said. “We are very fortunate to have Madison attending PSC and being a member of our golf team for years to come.”
Raco feels the Bobcats will be a tremendous addition to the Bobcats’ program.
“Madison was a six-year varsity starter,” Raco said. “One could make an argument that he is the best golfer our program has ever had. Madison was a great leader. He often took younger golfers under his wing and helped them with both fundamentals and mental aspects of the game.”
Taconic Hills Athletic Director Angela Webster couldn’t be happier for Bentley.
“We are very proud of Madison and wish him the best as he continues competing in golf at the next level,” Webster said.
