VALATIE — Bella Milazzo threw a perfect game with 16 strikeouts as Ichabod Crane defeated Fonda, 12-0, in Thursday’s Class B quarterfinal.

Emma Scheitinger blasted a home run and triple with two RBI in support of Milazzo. Emma Heartquist added three singles, Laney Altomer had a double and single with two RBI, Milazzo doubled and drove in a run, Ava Heffner had two singles and two RBI, Morgan Ormerod singled and drove in a run and Carolina Williams drove in two runs.

Ichabod Crane (16-0) and ranked No. 1 in the state in Class B will host Colonial Council rival Schalmont on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Section 2 semifinals.

Greenville 11, Cohoes 1

GREENVILLE — Melody Kappel pitched a two-hitter with 17 strikeouts as No. 2 Greenville defeated No. 15 Cohoes, 11-1, in Thursday’s Class B first-round game.

Kappel helped her own cause with a pair of doubles and a single with two RBI. Taryn Silk and Maddy Prayto both doubled and drove in two runs, Camryn Childs doubled, Emma Haller had two singles and two RBI and Shea Landversicht and Ava Landversicht both singled.

Greenville advances to the quarterfinals and will host No. 7 Schuylerville on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Schalmont 11, Taconic Hills 3

SCHENECTADY — No. 4 Schalmont scored four runs in the first inning and went on to defeat No. 5 Taconic Hills, 11-3, in Thursday’s Class B softball quarterfinal.

Autumn Sachs led the Titans with three singles and an RBI. Michaela Masten added a single and an RBI, Macayla Sparacino, Grace Alvarez, Skyler Waterhouse, Kylie Johnson and Aubrey Proper all singled and Emily Mottoshiski drove in a run.

Mottoshiski took the loss, allowing 11 runs and 13 hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
