SECTION II SOCCER: Greenville boys, girls earn high seeds

The Patroon Conference champion Greenville boys and girls soccer teams have both earned high seeds in the upcoming Section II Class B playoffs.

The Greenville boys are seeded No. 2, while the girls team is seeded No. 4.

The Spartans boys team is slated to host the winner of a play-in game between Johnstown and Glens Falls on Wednesday at 3 p.m. The Spartans girls team will host No. 13 seed Catholic Central on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Greenville High School.

The Ichabod Crane boys are seeded No. 7 in Class B and will host No. 10 Catskill on Wednesday at 7 p.m. with the winner moving on to the quarterfinal round on Saturday against the Greenville vs. Johnstown/Glens Falls winner at the home of the highest seed.

The Coxsackie-Athens boys are seeded No. 8 and will host a first-round game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against No. 9 Tamarac, while the Hudson boys are seeded No. 14 and will travel to No. 3 Schuylerville on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Mechanicville is seeded No. 1 in the Class B boys bracket.

The Class B boys quarterfinals are scheduled for Friday, with the semifinals on Oct. 27 at Gloversville and the championship on Oct. 30 at Colonie.

The Ichabod Crane girls are seeded No. 11 in Class B and will travel to No. 6 seed Cohoes on Thursday at 3 p.m. The Catskill girls are seeded No. 14 in Class B and will play at No. 3 Broadalbin-Perth on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Schalmont is the No. 1 seed in the Class B girls bracket with Mechanicville No. 2.

The Class B girls quarterfinals will be played on Saturday, with the semifinals on Oct. 26 at Stillwater and the championship on Oct. 29 at Stillwater.

In Class C, the Chatham boys have earned a No. 5 seeding and will host the winner of a play-in game between Berlin/New Lebanon and Hoosick Falls on Thursday at 3 p.m.

Maple Hill is the No. 1 seed in the Class C boys bracket and will host either Mekeel Christian or Ft. Plain on Thursday at 3 p.m.

The Class C boys quarterfinals will be played on Saturday, the semifinals are slated for Oct. 27 at La Salle and the championship game is scheduled for Oct. 30 at Colonie.

In the girls Class C bracket, Maple Hill is the No. 3 seed and will host either Whitehall or Cambridge on Friday at 3 p.m.

The Chatham girls are seeded No. 12 in Class C and will host a play-in game against No. 21 Middleburgh on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

The Cairo-Durham girls are the No. 15 seed in Class C and will host a play-in game on Wednesday at 3 p.m. against No. 18 Hadley Luzerne.

Waterford is the No. 1 seed in the Class C girls bracket.

The Class C girls quarterfinals will be played on Oct. 26, with the semifinal on Oct. 30 at Mechanicville and the championship on Nov. 2 at Mechanicville.

In Class D, the Germantown boys are seeded No. 9 and will travel to No. 8 Spa Catholic on Thursday at 3 p.m.

Northville is the No. 1 seed in Class D.

The Class D boys quarterfinals are slated for Saturday, with the semifinals on Tuesday at Gloversville and the championship on Oct. 30 at Colonie.

The Germantown girls are seeded No. 4 in Class D and will host No. 5 Doane Stuart in the quarterfinal round on Monday at 3 p.m.

Fort Ann is the No. 1 seed in the Class D girls bracket.

The Class D girls semifinals will be played on Oct. 28 at Gloversville, with the championship game slated for Nov. 1 at a site to be determined.
