ELLENVILLE — The Taconic Hills field hockey team won its season opener, blanking Ellenville, 3-0, in Thursday’s Mid-Hudson Athletic League contest.

Jennie Beck gave the Titans a 1-0 lead in the first period when she scored off an assist from Rylee Jause. Marilyn Rowe made it 2-0 in the third period, scoring of an assist from Brianna Shetsky.

Shetsky wrapped up the scoring with an unassisted goal in the fourth period.

Taconic Hills outshot Ellenville, 13-0, and held a 6-0 edge in penalty corners.

Grace Alvarez didn’t have to make a save in recording the shutout for the Titans. Ellenville’s Jillian Schaub turned away 10 shots.

Taconic Hills hosts Onteora on Tuesday at 6 p.m.


Ichabod Crane 6, Schoharie 1

SCHOHARIE — Ichabod Crane swept all five singles matches en route to a 6-1 victory over Schoharie in Thursday’s girls tennis action.

Ichabod Crane hosts Albany Academy on Monday at 4:30 p.m.


Singles: Elise Brennan (Ichabod Crane) defeated Margot Williams (Schoharie) 6-0, 6-1; Gianna Sandagato (Ichabod Crane) defeated Alaina Sholtes (Schoharie) 6-2, 6-4; Samantha Lantzy (Ichabod Crane) defeated Misha Cater-Smith(Schoharie) 6-0, 6-0; Maya Brennan (Ichabod Crane) defeated Allison Gallagher (Schoharie) 6-1, 6-0; Zoe Geiger (Ichabod Crane) won by forfeit 1-0.

Doubles: Camille Robison-Parisi & Skyler Willard (Schoharie) defeated Shannon Ingham & Amara Gabriel (Ichabod Crane) 6-7(12-14), 6-3, 10-5; Reese Slade & Payge Cook (Ichabod Crane) defeated Mary Palmieri & Allison Stinson(Schoharie) 6-3, 7-5.



Chatham 6, Coxsackie-Athens 1

COXSACKIE — Gabby Fisher and Addi Perry both scored two goals to lead Chatham to a 6-1 victory over Coxsackie-Athens in Thursday’s Patroon Conference girls soccer game.

Eudie Brennan and Maya Narofsky each had a goal for the Panthers. Fisher, Narofsky and Anna Carroll all had an assist.

Chatham hosts Rensselaer on Saturday at 11 a.m., while Coxsackie-Athens hosts Schenectady on Monday at 4:30 p.m.


Greenville 8, Hudson 0

GREENVILLE — Greenville hosted Hudson in a Patroon Conference boys soccer game on Thursday and came away with an 8-0 win.

Vinny Davis recorded a hat trick for the Spartans. Liam Bowden and Ben Reinhard each had two goals and Jack Motta scored one.

Reinhard, Bowden, Motta, Evan Cotter, Cole Flannery, Kaden Benson and Joe Davis each had an assist.

Greenville plays in the Mayfield Tournament on Saturday and Hudson hosts Taconic Hills on Monday.


MH boys, girls earn two wins

CHATHAM — The Maple Hill boys and girls picked up wins over Chatham and Watervliet in Thursday’s Patroon Conference cross country meet.

The Chatham and Watervliet boys and girls ran with incomplete teams.
