CRARYVILLE — Cairo-Durham overcame a one-run deficit with four runs in the top of the fifth inning and went on to defeat Taconic Hills, 9-7, in Wednesday’s Patroon Conference baseball game.
Alberto Rivera and Zach Russell each had a double and single with an RBI for the Mustangs. Jake Young added two singles and two RBI, James Young signed and drove in two runs, Kennedy Bleau singled and drove in a run and Logan Walz singled.
Kobe Van Alstyne and Aaron Bonci both doubled and drove in a run for the Titans. Troy Super had three singles, Gavin Hartka, Tyler Peck and Jacob Alvarez singled and drove in a run and Brandon Rossano singled.
Jake Young (6k,4bb,5r,6h) and Cole Partridge (1k,2r,3h) pitched for Cairo-Durham.
Super (8k,2bb,7r,8h) and Bonci (1k,1w,2r,1h) shared mound duties for Taconic Hills.
Coxsackie-Athens 9,
Watervliet 2
COXSACKIE — Andrew Sager blasted a solo homer to highlight Coxsackie-Athens’ 9-2 Patroon Conference baseball victory over Watervliet.
Adam Slater doubled for the Riverhawks. Dominic Stanzione had two singles and an RBI, Sean Scott singled and drove in two runs, Nathan Van Alphen had two singles, Shane DeRose singled and drove in a run, Christian Tedford drove in two runs and Brady Penet drove in a run.
Penet pitched six innings, striking out four, walking three and allowing two runs and four hits. Brendan Woytowich finished up, striking out one and walking one.
Catskill 10,
Greenville 0
CATSKILL — Catskill scored seven runs in the second inning and went on to defeat Greenville, 10-0, in Wednesday’s Patroon Conference baseball game.
Cullen Fulling threw a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and no walks.
Matyas Brodowski singled and drove in two runs for the Cats. Nate Shook-Timot, Carter Van Etten and Nick Place singled and Demetrio Morales drove in a run.
Caleb Pfleging, Jake Miller and Jake Stern all singled for Greenville.
Sebastian Bryant, Ryan Arp and Miller all pitched for Greenville, combining for five strikeouts an six walks, while allowing 10 runs (two earned) and four hits.
SOFTBALL
Chatham 14,
Maple Hill 2
Addi Perry and Emily Mesick both went 4 for 4 to lead Chatham to a 14-2 victory over Maple Hill in Wednesday’s Patroon Conference softball game.
Perry and Mesick each had a double, three singles and an RBI for the Panthers (14-1). Anna Friedman and Olive Mountain both had a double and single with three RBI, Alaina Graziano added two singles and an RBI, Jordin Radley singled and drove in a run and Emily Scheriff, Meta Mountain and Rylie Barden all singled.
Kate Brodzinski and Emily Coffey both hit solo homers for Maple Hill.
Mesick was the winning pitcher, striking out four, walking one and allowing two runs and three hits. Kate Ackerman (1k,8r,9h) and Maddie Camadine (2k,6r,9h) split the pitching duties for the Wildcats.
Taconic Hills 25,
Cairo-Durham 3
CRARYVILLE — Taconic Hills finished out the Patroon Conference softball regular season with a 25-3 victory over Cairo-Durham on TH’s Senior Day.
Senior Michaela Masten pitched a two hitter without giving up a single runner after the first inning. She had three walks and six strikeouts.
The Titans were led by senior Skylar Waterhouse, having a 4 for 4 day with three RBI. Senior Aubrey Proper went 2 for 2 with two RBI, senior Masten had one hit with three RBI and Grace Alvarez, Mikayla Silvernail, Alyssa Bleau, Maddy Manzi, and Elle Atwood all had one hit.
Cairo-Durham’s Sadie Hall had a single and Bridget Murphy had a two-run single.
Greenville 18,
Catskill 5
CATSKILL — Maddy Prayto went 4 for 5 with a home run, double and five RBI and Jorda Catlin added a home run, single and four RBI as Greenville topped Catskill, 18-5, in Patroon Conference softball action on Wednesday.
Olivia Hughes had double and two singles with an RBI for the Spartans. Brianna Shutter added two singles and three RBI, Abigayle Prayto collected two singles and an RBI, Molly Gardiner had two singles, Nuala Kappel singled and drove in a run and Grace Herbek and Gianna Fraim both drove in a run.
Kaitlyn McGee had a home run and single with two RBI for Catskill. Ava Edmond collected three singles, Brooke Benjamin added a single and two RBI, Madison Jones singled and drove in a run and Olivia White singled.
Shea Landversicht pitched for Greenville, striking out 13, walking one and allowing five runs (two earned) and six hits.
Jones took the loss, allowing 18 runs and 16 hits with two strikeouts and eight walks.
Coxsackie-Athens 15,
Watervliet 3
COXSACKIE — Brooke Miller belted a home run and double with three RBI and Isabella Luvera had two singles and four RBI to power Coxsackie-Athens to a 15-3 victory over Watervliet in Wednesday’s Patroon Conference softball game.
Bella Bushane ripped a double and single with two RBI for the Riverhawks. Riley Sitcer had a double and single, Leigha Wiley doubled, Molly Bartels collected three singles and two RBI, Abigail O’Dell had two singles and Jasa Cruz singled.
Wiley was the winning pitcher striking out four and allowing three runs (one earned) and six hits.
