BOICEVILLE — Janay Brantley scored 32 points, pulled down 13 rebounds, came up with 11 steals and dished out five assists to lead unbeaten and state-ranked Catskill to a 61-17 non-league girls basketball victory over Onteora on Tuesday.

The victory was Catskill’s eighth in as many games this season the Cats are currently No. 6 in the latest New York Sportswriters Association Class B girls basketball rankings.

Hannah Konsul had a double-double for the Cats, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Ava Edmond had nine points and 15 rebounds and Jayden Lewis contributed four points, eight rebounds and three assists in limited action.

Catskill plays host to Coxsackie-Athens on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

COLONIAL

Academy 57, ICC 42

ALBANY — Ichabod Crane couldn’t overcome a slow start a slow start and dropped a 57-42 decision to Albany academy in Tuesday’s Colonial Council girls basketball game.

The Riders trailed 16-7 after one quarter, 28-24 at halftime and 42-31 after three.

Carolina Williams led Ichabod Crane with 10 points. Ashley Ames and Alexa Barkley both had eight, Delaney More added six, Abby Dolge had five, Ava Heffner four and Rylee Dunn one.

“We came out flat and got down 16-3,” Ichabdo Crane coach Dave Ames said. “We fought back with a good second quarter to only be down 4 at the half, but overall we missed too many opportunities around the basket and didn’t play defense with any intensity.

“We just need to get back in the gym tomorrow and work harder.”

Taconic Hills 59, C-A 55

CRARYVILLE — Taconic Hills built a 14-point lead by halftime and went on to defeat Coxsackie-Athens, 59-55, in Tuesday’s Patroon Conference boys basketball game.

The Titans were up 16-8 after one quarter and 34-20 at halftime, but C-A fought back, closing 43-35 after three quarters, then outscoring Taconic Hills, 20-16, in the final stanza, only to fall short.

Zach Rowe and Neil Howard III each had 14 points for the Titans. Troy Super added 10.

Robbie Hughes led C-A with 19 points. Dillon Hynes had 13 and Jordna Williams nine.

COXSACKIE-ATHENS (55): Hughes 6-2-19, Hynes 5-3-13, Maurer 0-1-1, Hellen 2-0-4, Penet 2-0-5, Minnick 1-0-2, Carey 1-0-2, Williams 4-1-9. Totals 21-7-55.
