Howard stands out at Marine Corps Holiday Classic

NEW YORK — Taconic Hills sophomore Neil Howard III took first place in the Indoor Pentathlon at the 19th Annual Marine Corps Holiday Classic held at the Armory indoor track in New York City last week.

The boys indoor pentathlon contests the 55m high hurdles (8.39 sec), high jump (5’ 7.75”), shot put (35’ 6.5”), long jump (21’ 5.5”), and 1,000 meter run (2:53.08).

The score of 3,288 points set a new meet record and was designated a MileSplit US Second Team Silver Standard Performance.

The win places Howard sixth on the All-Time Section 2 Pentathlon list and ranks him first in NYS and in the US with the score in the combined event.
