CRARYVILLE — Bo Burns rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns, caught three passes for 28 yards and had seven tackles on defense to lead Taconic Hills past Catskill/Cairo-Durham, 32-0, on Homecoming Night at Taconic Hills on Friday.

The win clinches a playoff berth for the Titans, who improve to 3-2 in the Class C South Division. Four teams from the South and four from the North qualify for the playoffs, which begin in three weeks.

Friday’s game was close for three quarters with Taconic Hills up 12-0 entering the final stanza. Catskill/Cairo-Durham, which dressed just 18 players, began to wear down in the later stages of the game and the Titans took advantage, erupting for three touchdowns over the final 12 minutes.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Titans got on the board with 3:44 remaining in the second quarter on a three-yard run by Burns. The Titans made it 12-0 with 7:59 remaining in the third quarter on a 39-yard pass from Tyler Peck to Charlie Beck.

Burns broke loose for scoring runs of 15 and 42 yards in the final stanza. Zack Wessel added the point after kicks.

Curran Garrity added a 48-yard run with 4:43 remaining in the game to cap the scoring.

Peck completed 12 of 14 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown. Beck, Burns an Nate Baird each had three catches.

Connor Simmons had two solo tackles, five assists and one sack. ICC 28, Rensselaer 6

RENSSELAER — Joe Penzabene accounted for three touchdowns and had seven tackles and a sack on defense to highlight Ichabod Crane’s 28-6 victory over Rensselaer in Friday’s Class C South Division game.

Penzabene completed 9 of 15 passes for 89 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also ran for 139 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries as Ichabod Crane improved to 3-2. The Riders are not eligible for the Class C playoffs because they are a B school playing down a division.

Connor Ackerly had a big game carrying the ball, rushing for 134 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Austin Race had six receptions for 67 yards and a TD.

Ryan Putnam stood out on defense for the Riders, making seven tackles and sacking the Rams quarterback three times. Ben Vecellio had five tackles, Thomas Cooper four tackles and a sack and Gabe DeLong four tackles and two sacks.

Ichabod Crane hosts Watervliet on Friday at 7 p.m.

Watervliet 65, C-A 0

COXSACKIE — Watervliet remained unbeaten in the Class C South Division with a 65-0 victory over Coxsackie-Athens in Friday’s game.

The Cannoneers (5-1 overall) are alone at the top the South Division standings with a 5-0 record. Hudson and Voorheesville are both 4-1.

Coxsackie-Athens falls to 0-4 and will travel to Voorheesville on Saturday at 1 p.m.
