Q: How did you fall in love with your sport?
A: I fell in love with basketball in seventh grade. I’d say seventh grade was the year I really worked hard and fell in love with the process of getting better and working on your game, and once I started to see results it really took my love for the game to the next level. Ever since then I’ve always loved going to the gym and working on my craft.
Q: What’s your favorite moment as an athlete in that sport?
A: My favorite moment in basketball is definitely scoring my 1000th point. It’s just something that every player dreams of accomplishing and to be able to do that as a junior, I am very fortunate and will forever cherish that moment.
Q: What is your favorite sports moment as a fan?
A: My favorite sports moment is when North Carolina won the national championship after losing to Villanova the previous year. It was just a great redemption story and something that I will remember for a long time.
Q: What athlete do you look up to the most and why?
A: The athlete I look up to the most has to be Derrick Rose. The way he carries himself and all the things he’s overcome, it’s very inspirational and makes me appreciate every time I step on the court because you never know what could happen.
Q: Best advice you’ve received from a coach, mentor or teammate in your sport?
A: The best advice I’ve received from a coach was no matter how skilled you are or how athletic you are, none of it matters if you don’t give 100% on the court at all times. Whenever I step on to a court I always try and contribute on both ends of the floor and always try and give maximum effort.
