EAST GREENBUSH — The East Greenbush-Castleton Athletics broke open a close game with 14 runs in the last two innings to post a 20-8 in Sunday’s Empire State 8U Fall Baseball League Tournament.
The Athletics held a slim 6-5 lead after four innings, but put the game away with five runs in the fifth and nine more in the sixth.
Despite the loss, the Outlaws enjoyed a strong Fall season, finishing the regular season in first place with a 5-1 record. They were the No. 1 seed in the ESBL Tournament, going 2-1 and finishing second in the postseason.
“We’ll get back to work with winter workouts in January, getting ready to compete in Empire State Baseball League spring-summer season,” said Outlaws manager Mike Martin, who added he was “incredibly proud of this team.”
Jayden Houle ripped a double and single with three RBI for the Outlaws. JJ Shah doubled, Chris Brown and Ethan Peters both had two singles and an RBI. Caleb Frisbee and Braden Martin had two singles apiece, Carter Chase contributed a single and an RBI and Madi Van Alphen, Kaden Patterson and Aiden Yusko all singled.

PITTSFIELD — Brandon Rossano threw a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and just one walk as the ENY Blackhawks 14U defeated the Pittsfield Pirates, 12-0, to sweep Sunday’s Fall Travel Baseball doubleheader.
Gabe Carpenter tripled and singled for the Blackhawks. Kyle Danforth had a double and single with 3 RBI, Tyler Peck singled and drove in 4 runs, Max Frering doubled and had an RBI, Dom Pelizza doubled, Sam Buquet had a single and an RBI and Jacob Macfarlane drove in 2 runs.
In the opener, Kyle Danforth doubled, singled and drove in 3 runs to lead the ENY Blackhawks. Max Frering had a double and single with an RBI for the Blackhawks. Brandon Rossano added a double and single, Gabe Carpenter had 2 singles and an RBI, Gavin Hartka and Sam Buquet a single and an RBI each and Jacob Macfarlane a single.
Buquet and Dom Pelizza combined for the win, striking out 5 and scattering 5 hits.

TROY — Amarion Perry homered and doubled with four RBI and combined with two other pitchers on a no-hitter as the Columbia Clippers 10U completed a doubleheader sweep of the South Troy Dodgers 9U on Saturday with a 14-3 victory.
The Clippers took the first game, 15-5.
Perry, Keegan Mullins and Evan Conte combined for eight strikeouts and six walks and didn’t allow a hit in the Game 2 win.
Mason Briscoe contributed 2 singles and Conte and Logan Burleigh each had a single and an RBI.
In the opener, Perry had a triple and two singles with an RBI and Conte collected three singles and three RBI for the Clippers. Briscoe added a double and an RBI, Mullins had two singles and an RBI and Tanner Kelly singled.
Briscoe and Burleigh combined for the win, striking out eight and allowing two hits.
