COXSACKIE — Josh Kiefer scored 29 points to lead Coxsackie-Athens to a 66-61 victory over previously unbeaten Greenville in Friday’s high school boys basketball game at Coxsackie-Athens High School.

Greenville, which was playing without three starters, fell behind 18-12 after one quarter and 39-26 at the half, but rallied to even the score 42-42 by the end of the third stanza. Upset-minded C-A would not be denied, though, and outscored the Spartans 24-19 over the final eight minutes to pull out the victory.

Andon Roe followed Kiefer in scoring for C-A with 14 points.

Damien Fiducia had 21 points and Trey Smith 17 for Greenville, which came into the game 10-0.

CHATHAM — Chatham built a 13-point lead by the end of the first quarter and went on to defeat Cairo-Durham, 73-40, in Friday’s high schol boys basketball game at Chatham High School.

Jayshawn Williams topped Chatham with 21 points. Kyle Jackson contributed 13 and Matt Thorsen and Tyler Kneller each had 11.

Ethan Phillips had 13 points for Cairo-Durham. Adam Budz added 10.

VALATIE — Brett Richards scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to power Ichabod Crane to a 54-29 triumph over Ravena in Saturday’s high school boys basketball game at Ichabod Crane High School.

The Riders built quarterly leads of 9-7, 21-9 and 36-19.

Justice Suafoa contributed 11 points to the Riders’ cause.

Jason Reif led Ravena with eight points.

BERNE — Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s all-time leading scorer Zeke Pulliam poured in 37 points as the Bulldogs rolled to an 80-62 victory over Greenville in Saturday’s high school boys basketball game.

Mark Edwards had 20 point for BKW, which trailed 21-14 after one qarter, but came on to even the score 35-35 at halftime. The Bulldogs went on to outscore the Spartans, 45-27, in th second half.

Trey Smith hit five three-pointers en route to a 19-point performance for Greenville, which finished the season with a 10-2 record. Damien Fiducia scored 15.

Dominic Hirschoff had nine points and Brad Cole eight for the wildcats, who led 14-11 after one quarter, 33-27 at halftime and 56-37 through three quarters.

Andoe Roe paced C-A with 27 points. Josh Kiefer had 16 and Dillon Hynes 10.
