CHATHAM — Jacob Baccaro and Matt Thorsen combined for 31 points to spark Chatham to a 50-48 overtime victory over Watervliet in Friday’s Patroon Conference boys basketball game.

Chatham led 15-9 after one quarter but fell behind 20-18 by halftime. The Panthers rallied t take a 37-30 edge after three, but Watervliet used a 15-8 scoring advantage in the fourth to draw even at 45-45 at the end of regulation.

Chatham went on to outscore Waterviet, 5-3, in the extra period, limiting the Cannoneers to just three free throws.

Baccaro finished with 16 points for the Panthers. Thorsen had 15.

Malik Simms’ 13 points topped Watervliet.

“I am extremely proud of how our kids competing tonight vs. a tough, well-coached Watervliet team,” Chatham coach J.B. Brantley said. “I was happy with our defensive effort tonight. Even after they tied the game at end of regulation, I was proud of how they kept their composure in OT. Jacob hit two big time free throws in OT to give us the lead with six seconds left.”

Chatham hosts Cairo-Durham on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

GREENVILLE — Greenville jumped out to a 26-point lead by halftime and never looked back in earning a 64-34 victory over Cairo-Durham in Friday’s Patroon Conference boys basketball game.

The Spartans led 12-6 through one quarter of action, 35-9 at halftime and 59-28 after three.

Jack Motta had 23 points to lead the Spartans. Trey Smith added nine.

Collin Deyo was the Mustangs’ top scorer with 24 points.

Greenville travels to Watervliet on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Cairo-Durham goes to Hudson on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

VALATIE — Brett Richards scored 10 points in overtime to help Ichabdo crane post a 59-55 victory over Cobleskill-Richmondville in Friday’s Colonial Council boys basketball action.

Richards finished with 39 points and 16 rebounds for the Riders.

Ichabod Crane was up 13-4 after one quarter and 22-16 at halftime, but Cobleskill-Richmondville surged to a 36-33 lead by the end of the third stanza. The Riders evened the score, 47-47, at the end of regulation, then outscored the Bulldogs, 12-8, in the extra period to nail down the victory.

Ichabod Crane plays at Lansingburgh on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

COBLESKILL (55): Clark 5-2-14, Foote 4-1-9, Helm 2-0-5, LaBarge 8-2-20, Peterson 2-2-7. Totals 21-7-55.

COXSACKIE — Coxsackie-Athens dropped a 79-61 non-league decision to Saugerties on Friday.

The Riverhawks trailed by just five at halftime, but the Sawyers went on a 26-9 run at the start of the second half to pull away.

Dillon Hynes led C-A with 18 points. Robbie Hughes contributed 14.

Ethan Conrad had 24 points for Saugerties. Nico Bocchimuzzo added 16 and Aiden Schoomaker had 15.

Coxsackie-Athens visits Hudson on Fridy at 6:30 p.m.
