Bank of Greene County announces it will open a new branch in Albany

Don Gibson

ALBANY - The Bank of Greene County announced that it will open a new branch office to be located at 103 Wolf Road, in the Town of Colonie.

According to Bank President and CEO, Donald Gibson, “This is a very exciting announcement as this will be our Bank’s third branch located in Albany County. We are opening the new branch due to overwhelming customer demand. While we have had a significant presence for many years in Albany County, this will be our first branch on Wolf Road.

The Bank of Greene County has been serving local communities for more than 130 years. In all that time, we’ve never said farewell to customers due to a merger or consolidation. And we never will, because we set the Bank up with a unique ownership structure that ensures our independence. Being local, and staying local is important to us. We are here to stay!

While the Bank has not set a definite date for a branch opening, it is our intention to immediately proceed with the design and renovations. We have targeted the second quarter of 2020 for the grand opening. We plan to staff the office with a combination of experienced Bank staff and will be accepting applications from potential new employees, hopefully from the local community.

The new office will feature a full service branch, along with offices designed for corporate cash management, commercial lending, municipal cash management, and investment services. The branch will feature a cyber-café, a drive-up 24 hour ATM, two drive-up windows, and has ample parking. In addition we believe our customers will appreciate the location as it allows full entry and exit onto both Wolf and Sand Creek Roads.”
