To the editor:

With all due respect to Jim Varelas, I couldn’t disagree more. It is not the reduction of Christian influence, or the Bible that is a threat to our freedoms today, but those ‘Nationalists,’ ie: the white supremacists, proud boys, oath keepers, and others who support them (including your previous president, and many current members of the GOP) who are now emboldened by the weak GOP who chose to ignore the recent insurrection and those who promoted, incited and acted on it, creating death and mayhem, by once again aligning with Trump and voting to acquit him, yet again! It is not the ‘progressives, or ‘so-called’ leftist Dems,’ but rather those fringe homeland terrorists who claim to be good ‘Christians.’

You are clearly mistaken and misguided when pointing a finger that way. It is less religion, bible babble that we need and more truthfulness and more morality! You’re correct that our freedoms are indeed threatened, but NOT for the reasons you state. I urge you to delve deeper into your heart and mind to see the truth.
