To the editor:
Two years ago, after an enthusiastic and engaged campaign in Germantown, for the first time two Democrats joined the town board. The newly-reenergized board tackled environmental issues, offered modernized and transparent communication with residents all while steering the town through the COVID crisis.
The election on Nov 2 is an opportunity for Germantown to continue this work. Town Board candidates Melora Kuhn and Conor Guy will bring youthful energy, a strong sense of community, and a knack for environmental and social leadership to the Board. Supervisor Beaury has four years of experience, and is ready to lead from day one. Anthony Cidras, currently second in command of the town’s highway department, is running for the open position of Highway Superintendent, and he is ready for snow or sleet (or even sunshine), starting Jan 1. Carol Neville, an experienced lawyer, is running for Town Justice. This is the strongest slate in memory for the Democrats, and electing it will continue the progress of the last two years.
