To the editor:

Where are the carp?

Where did they go?

I can’t catch them.

Does anyone know?

Could it be a predator fish, eagle or bear?

Is the water too warm or the weather too fair?

Is anyone listening, does anyone care?

Could it be toxic water released from the dump?

Did that make them leave or die with a thump?

Now I just cast but they never latch on

and this is the month they’re supposed to spawn.

I will keep fishing and give it a sting but could our water be harmful like Flint?

Don’t mean to cry out or be so alarming

But no fish in our creek, isn’t very charming.

Yes there are bigger fish to fry and I reall despite those who beat that guy.
