PRATTSVILLE — HAPPY THANKSGIVING. Hope you and yours had a great get together making up for lost time during the past year. Just remain watchful and take precautions — it is better than spending time isolated in the hospital. Christmas is coming and we want to be able to celebrate this special time of year with loved ones and friends.

Heard the Museum Bake and Craft sale was a rousing success. Applause for all members and those who supported our Museum by attending, buying, or donating and the vendors for their beautiful crafts. The Museum members worked very hard to make this a success and they are to be congratulated on their mission to bring our Museum back to life. Try it again next year?

Nancy Kizyma was the winner of a framed painting at the Sacred Heart/St. Philip Neri yard sale this past August. Seems Nancy and the Church had a lot of missed messages but the connection was finally made and Nancy is now in possession of the beautiful painting. Congratulation Nancy. And heard you made the Sacred Heart/St. Philip’s weekly bulletin. Good to hear Nancy is over her bug. Do we all have the same bug or do we each come up with something special?

There is a new schedule for Sacred Heart/St. Philip parish with the appointment of new pastor to preside over four churches — Grand Gorge, Stamford, Margaretville and Andes. St. Philip in Grand Gorge will celebrate Mass Sundays at 8:30 a.m. and Sacred Heart in Stamford will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Confessions before each Mass. If you have any questions, please call 1-607-652-7170.

Any good hunting stories of the largest bucks every, the one that got away (as in fishing) or just enjoyment of the season? Would also enjoy pictures.

Hear Ron Cline is on the mend. Does that mean Mary is also feeling better? Claudia Bracaliello is almost mobile. She is smart, she got her VA Christmas presents purchased and wrapped and delivered to the Gurleys before any medical procedure that might be required. So far, so good. Thanks Claudia. Connie Lane continues to make progress after her ankle surgery. Good health to Kip Rikard.

Marianne Krauss, Cathy Martino and Ginny Gurley attended the Greene County American Legion Auxiliary meeting in Catskill Saturday. They also took in an early look ‘n see shopping trip to Kingston. Thanksgiving decorations already on sale and Christmas stock already showing some blank shelves. Better get your shopping in now. The Gurleys and all the many gracious and generous residents of our area, under the auspices of the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary, will be arranging the annual Christmas Celebration for our hospitalized veterans at the Stratton VAMC. Although we are not able to visit them in person due to the pandemic we can still give them gifts to make their holiday merry and bright. In addition to their personal gift bag of gifts, we are trying to replace their used games, craft items, etc. with new items in their recreational rooms. To help, call the Gurleys at 518-299-3219 or Thank you.

Happy Birthday to Ed McLean on Nov. 27. On Nov. 28 we wish Jim Thorington Happy Birthday. Hayley Dugan is wished a Happy Birthday on Nov. 29. Dec. 1 we wish Joe Baker Happy Birthday. Ron Cline is wished a very Happy Healthy Birthday on Dec. 3. Just stay out of the apple trees. Hope Mary made you a lot of apple pies.
