Town of Lexington Judge Bob Basil was surprised by a crowd of people walking into his court room on Dec. 20. All were there to wish him well on his retirement as Town Justice for the last 42 years. Bob’s wife Chickie, daughter and granddaughters and son were there along with many friends and colleagues, law enforcement and former Lexington Town Supervisors Dixie Baldrey and Greg Cross. JoEllen Schermerhorn, current Town Supervisor, read a proclamation and opened the floor to anyone who wanted to say a few words. It was all very moving and a great tribute to Bob and all his years serving as Judge.

Several ladies, JoEllen Schermerhorn, Rose Williams, Diane Pendarvis, Carol Constable and Chris Dwon packed and delivered fruit/cookies/goodie baskets from the Lexington/West Kill United Methodist Women on Dec. 22. The recipients were most grateful and it was wonderful to be able to visit, even if it was a brief visit, and bring some joy.

Birthday wishes to Jill Schermerhorn on Dec. 30. Dec. 30 is also DeeDee Bulson’s birthday. Happy birthday to Rev. Karen Monk on Jan. 3. Jan. 4 is Liza Dwon’s birthday. Also celebrating a birthday on Jan. 4 is Shari Pushman. Best wishes to all.
