“Death Be Not Proud” that you have Stolen Stardust that lit the earth, For that Stardust has become a Star that now lights the heavens. “Death Be Not Proud” that you have Silenced the Voice That sang 5 instruments; That spoke 7 languages; That endowed new English Language Learners With Understanding; That enlivened the earth with Humor and Compassion; That supported many With Generosity and Opportunity; For that Voice is now carried forward by many
Who Emulate him. “Death Be Not Proud” that you have Stilled the Hand that sweetly Caressed me the Lips that gently Kissed me; the Feet that Danced Happiness; the Creativity that rendered Delicious Dishes Shared with many; the Power that Moved Mountains and Strived to make all Possible; For that Stillness is only Temporary until Transformed into ETERNITY. Do Not Mourn the loss of my Yianni. Instead, Share what he Gave by Doing the Same. In that way, we Honor him and Conquer Grief; And Death’s little games Disintegrate into Nothingness… By: Anna Theresa Balash-Ioannidou, 4/28/2021©
