William S. Becker, 83, of Marbletown, NY, passed away on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 at The Thompson House in Rhinebeck, NY.

William, known as Bill, was born on February 9th, 1938, in Schenectady, NY - the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Peck) Becker.

Bill graduated from Hunter-Tannersville Central School. He then served as a radarman aboard the USS Moale in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1962.

For many years, Bill worked as a graphic designer throughout the New York City area. More recently, he was well-known as a physical trainer at the YMCA in Kingston, NY. The spinning classes he led attracted huge crowds. Those who attended them know how inspiring it was to watch Bill, in his late 70s at the time, motivating those working out to give their all.

Never one to sit idle, Bill had many interests and hobbies. He loved spending time outdoors, cycling and practicing archery. He was an avid collector and dealer of antiques, and created his own art and woodwork.

He is survived by his cousins, Thomas Haefelin of Hunter, NY, and Gregg Haefelin of Rhinebeck, NY; along with extended family and numerous colleagues and friends.

Funeral services will be private.

Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
