William Roy Anderson Jr, Bill, passed away at home on January 20th 2024. He was born in Danbury, Connecticut on November 6th 1946 to William Roy Sr. and Florence Anderson. Bill was a proud Marine Seargent and Arial Door Gunner from 1966 - 1970. He served two tours in Vietnam and was a recipient of a purple heart. Bill was an excellent marksman and a member of The Kalicoontie Rod and Gun Club. He participated in Project Appleseed events and taught others about the Civil war and how to properly use rifles. He also belonged to the American Legion.
Bill had a degree in electrical engineering and was a Pilot Mechanic at Sky Acres Airport. He had a love for guitars, fast cars, airplanes, and flying. He leaves behind his wife Barbara Zabik-Anderson, sister April Anderson, daughter Laurie Kravarik (Tim), son William Anderson III (Kimberly) and daughter Melissa Silva (Dennis). Bill had 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his step-children Adam and Amber Nolen.
Visitation will be held at Bates and Anderson Funeral Home in Hudson, NY from 12 – 3 PM on Saturday January 27th, 2024. In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
