William J. ‘Bill’ Crapser, age 73 passed away May 23, 2023, at Columbia Memorial Hospital. He was born June 13, 1949 in Catskill, NY; the son of Robert and Dorothea (Shufelt) Crapser. He was a combat veteran of the Vietnam war, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1967-1971. He was awarded Albany author of the year in 1988 for his novel Remains: Stories of Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother Bob Crapser of Eureka, KS, a niece and nephew, several cousins and many friends. Per his wishes, a graveside only service was conducted Tuesday May 30, 2023, with military honors provided by the U.S. Marine Corps and American Legion Post 110. Services were under the direction of Traver McCurry Funeral Home.
