Warren D. Strausser

Outdoorsman West Kill, NY Warren Strausser, 63, died May 28, 2020 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, N.Y. after a very brief illness. Born January 27, 1957 to Ellen (Rappleyea) and Donald Strausser in Catskill, N.Y. He grew up in West Kill and lived in the area all of his life.

Warren was a man of many talents and interests. He spent most of his time outdoors hunting, fishing, gunslinging, stone carving, cutting wood, etc. He was also a local legend when it came to racing cars and motorcycles. He and his Camaro were king of the 1/4 mile. Warren was involved in two very serious accidents in his early years that caused him to become disabled at a young age. But he never let it stop him from working hard and enjoying his life.

He is survived by his father Donald and step mother Diane of Margaretville, N.Y., a son Bronson (Kayla) of Jewett, N.Y., brother Dale of West Kill, N.Y., aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his fiancee Ruth Pelkey of Windham, N.Y. He was predeceased by his mother and brother, Hecter.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2020, 9-11AM, with the funeral at 11:00AM at the Aston-Basagic Funeral Home, Main St. Hunter, N.Y. Burial will be held at West Kill Community Cemetery. Due to the COVID-19 Virus, facial masks will be required.
