Tyler Yager, 36, of Elka Park passed away peacefully on May 18, 2023. Born and raised in the restaurant industry, Tyler started helping his Mom and Dad with Warms Restaurant. As a young boy he hated every minute of it so he went to work for Williams Lumber once he reached high school. After graduating from HTC, Tyler attended SUNY Cobleskill where he earned his associate degree. He then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Hunter College in NYC. Over the next ten years Tyler pursued his career in the hospitality industry working at some of the finest restaurants in NYC and New Orleans. When COVID emerged, Tyler decided to move back to his hometown where he enjoyed working at Pancho Villa’s and Jessie’s Harvest House. Tyler is survived by his loving parents Steve & Holly, his grandmother Joan Yager, his aunts & uncles Bonnie (Bill) Murray of Collinsville, OK, Tracy (Steve) Applegate of Elka Park, Margaret (Art) Coats of Scotia, Albert Hulick of Greenville, Dan (Kathy) Hulick of Selkirk, Sue Hulick of Selkirk, and many cousins. He will be deeply missed by many. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 23rd from 6-8pm at the Aston-Basagic Funeral Home in Hunter. Followed by a funeral service at 11am on Wednesday, May 24th at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory can be made to the Tannersville Rescue Squad.
