Tamarah “Tam” Jones, 43, of Hudson, NY passed away peacefully on July 12th, 2021 after a long battle with COPD. Tam was a beloved community leader, dedicated mother, sister, aunt, friend and a mentor to many young people in the Hudson community. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 19th at Bates and Anderson Funeral Home with viewing from 9 AM-11 AM followed by services at 11 AM. Following the services, there will be a procession through the City of Hudson. Tamarah was born in Tarrytown, NY on September 22nd, 1977. She attended Hudson High School. As a teenager, Tamarah worked with the Columbia County Youth Project Inc with Lynn Carr “Ms. Bunny” which was a big part of her development as a community leader. Tamarah worked as a Family Advocate for the Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood for 7 years and played a hugely influencial role in the lives of many youth and families in her community. Tamarah leaves behind her children Amirah Forbes and Terrance Robbinson Jr., twin sister Barbara Veeney, younger sister Savoia Jones and brother Edward “EJ” Jones. In addition to the immediate family, Tamarah is survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family, friends and the whole Hudson community.
