Robert “Bob” C. Donahue, Jr.

Robert “Bob” C. Donahue, Jr. age 57, passed away on September 2, 2020. He was born on December 3, 1962, in Catskill, N.Y. to Robert and Harriet (Thomsen) Donahue, Sr. of Cairo.

Bob married his wife of 34 years Connie (Schmeelk) on October 5, 1985.

He was employed with S & F Masonry for many years, where he learned the trade of masonry which helped him build his beautiful home in Round Top for his family. He has continued to help build many homes for friends and loved ones. Bob found his love of ironwork and bridge construction in 1996, when he started working with Piasecki Steel Construction. Throughout his life he has been an extremely hard worker and has passed on his knowledge and trade to many. He was extremely proud of his wife, his daughters (their husbands), and his work. Aside from work, Bob was a fan of NASCAR, enjoyed woodworking, loved spending time with his friends and family, dining out at his favorite restaurants, and was absolutely in love with being with his granddaughters.

Besides his parents, survivors include wife Connie Donahue, daughters Amanda (TJ) Dwyer and Candice (Pete) Kavakos; granddaughters Emelia, Heidi, Grace and Emma; sister Allyson (Dan) Ripple; brother Chuck (Lisa) Donahue; his half-brother, and many close aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and friends. Bob is predeceased by his brothers Michael and Jeffrey Donahue.

Visitation will be held for Bob on Thursday, September 10, 2020, from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo, N.Y. 12413.
