Raymond A. Miller, Sr.

Raymond A. Miller, Sr., 88 of Round Top, NY went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 11, 2021.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Elsie L. Miller.

Raymond was born in New York City and eventually moved to Round Top. He was the son of the late Oscar and Elsie (Sutter) Miller, and brother, James Miller. His family owned and operated the Catskill Mountain resort Pickwick Lodge for two generations.

Raymond is survived by five daughters and one son, Deborah (Skip) Miller, Annette (Rick) Snowden, Tami Miller, Raymond (Carolyn) Miller, Mary (Greg) Jason, Jeanette (Doug) Bruck and 13 grandchildren, Christina Ulscht, Erica Miller, Jeremiah ,Joshua, and Jonathan Snowden, Kelly Brainard, Matthew and Daniel Miller, Gregory, Kyle and Colleen Jason, Laney and Sam Bruck; and 16 great-grand sons and two great grand-daughters.

Raymond was in the Army National Guard and went on the be a NYS Trooper before joining the NYS Environmental Conservation Department where he served for 28 years as ECO and Lieutenant . Upon retirement Raymond was employed by the Greene County Sheriffs Dept. He was devoted to his family and loved Round Top, the mountains, and being outdoors. He was an expert marksman, a certified gunsmith, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, Oct. 14 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Traver & Mc Curry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, Oct. 15 at the Community Life Church, 20 W. Main Street, Catskill.

Pastor Rick Snowden will officiate. Interment will be in the Round Top Cemetery.

NYS Sheriffsā€™ Institute, 27 Elk Street, Albany, NY 12207 with notation for summer camp/in memory of Raymond A. Miller, Sr.
