Petrona (Pat) Gotebiowski of Catskill passed on November 15, 2022 at the age of 101. Born in 1921 in Smith Landing (Cementon), NY, she was the daughter of the late William Ambrose and Agnes (Luzeckis) Ambrose.

Pat is survived by her three children, John W. Gotebiowski (wife Diane). Eileen Beare, and Paul Ambrose (wife Cynthia) all of Catskill; grandchildren Kristen Gotebiowski, Jeffrey Beare, Evan Ambrose, and Laura Bays; great-grandchildren Gavin Beare, Brian Beare LaGasse, Kyle Beare LaGasse and Alaina LaGasse, Ryan and Julia Ambrose and Addison and Blakely Bays. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 71 years, John J. Gotebiowski; her sister Agnes Inglis and her grandsons, Aaron Gotebiowski and Steven Beare.

Pat was a Registered Nurse for 40 years beginning during World War II in the United States Cadet Nurse Corps – the nation’s first integrated uniformed service corps. She later worked at Greene County Memorial Hospital and also provided private duty nursing for many years. She was the first Supervisor of Nursing Services at Eden Park Nursing Home, (currently The Pines) in Catskill, and served as Director of Nursing until her retirement in 1985.

Pat enjoyed many years of her retirement tending to her beloved grandchildren. She and John were avid dancers and they enjoyed travelling with friends. She has left her loving family with a treasure of fond memories. A devout Catholic, Pat was a communicant of St. Patrick’s RC Church in Catskill. She will always be remembered for her devotion and generosity to her family and friends.

A private funeral ceremony was held November 19th, with interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Catskill.
