Paul F. Zito, 89, of Ghent, NY, died Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Greene Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation in Catskill, NY.

Born September 21, 1932 in Hudson, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ethel (Silvernail) Zito. Paul served with the US Army during the Korean War and was employed by Local -7 Plumbers and Steamfitters in Latham. A loving husband father and grandfather, he enjoyed playing the banjo and guitar, motorcycle riding, waterskiing and bluegrass music with Ward Allen as his hero. He was also the checkers champion at the Nursing home.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Elizabeth (VanAllen) Zito, two children; Jerald Zito of Kennewick WA and Missy Zito of Ghent, two brothers; Charles Zito of South Carolina and Frederick Zito of Philmont, a sister Frances Gennetti of Florida, three grandchildren; Nicholas, Jerome and Benedict Zito.and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Ross, Joe, Louis, Salvador and Santi Zito, Ethel Leiser, Antoinette Stacy, Sarah Snack and Fanny Garafalo.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 15, 2021, 11:00am at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie. Visitation will be from 10am to11:00am prior to the service. Burial will follow in West Ghent Cemetery.
