Nicole Matteo

On May 27, 2020, Nicole Marie “Nikki” Matteo, 44, formerly of Catskill, left us peacefully at home, in Wall Twp., NJ, surrounded by her family and friends. Nikki graduated from Catskill High School before moving to West Belmar, NJ where she worked at Bar Anticipation, then later worked at Collins, Vella, & Casello LLC, in Wall Twp., NJ and John B. Wright Insurance Agency. Nikki had a huge passion for animals, she loved her dogs CJ, Daisy, Harley, Dakota & Coco Chanel, along with everyone else’s pets she ever came across. She loved the Giants and looked forward to Football Sunday with her friends every week. She had a love for Michael Kohrs and Coach pocketbooks. Nikki loved dinners with her friends more than anything in the world, going to concerts (especially Godsmack), and going to the movies.

To be able to put Nikki into a couple paragraphs is impossible, the best way to say it would be it’s a lot like “When Legends Rise” from Godsmack, her favorite band, she was a fighter and a legend. Nikki made friends with everyone she ever met, 5 minutes in and you were family. She loved every one of her friends and family with all her heart, and even at the end wanted to make sure everyone else was ok, and then she’d flip you off and everyone would go back to laughing. She had a devilish smile that would light you up and make you wonder what was coming next, we’ll all miss that smile! Nikki was fiercely loyal to everyone around her, even when she had something to do for herself, she would think of her friends and family first. Going out with Nikki was like going to a Three Ring Circus with crazy characters that would just show up, but made every time it happened more amazing and fun than the last. There wasn’t a friend around that was more trustworthy or compassionate, and that you could go to at any time, she was the rock in all of our lives. The world was lucky to have someone in it that was our guiding light and made so many people rally around her and for her. You will always be in our hearts Nikki, forever. We are in each other’s life for a reason, thank you for showing up!

Nikki is survived by her parents Charles & Eileen Matteo, her sister & brother-in-law Lisa & Edward Flesch, her Aunt Marie Dill, cousins Lorie DeStasio & Husband Vincent DeStasio of Toms River, NJ, Christina O’Brien of Toms River, NJ, and Frank & Wife Kim O’Brien of Beachwood, NJ. Her hundreds of friends, who’s world is a full shade darker without her in it. Also, her Nurse, Vallie Koren of Hazlet, NJ while arriving in heaven asking “Where’s Val?” She was predeceased by her grandparents Cosmo & Concetta Matteo of Catskill, grandparents Nicholas & Josephine Grober of New Brunswick, NJ and Sister Deborah Matteo-Conrad or Fort Belvoir, VA.

Private graveside services will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery , Catskill. In Lieu of flowers donations to the ASPCA. Arrangements by Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, Catskill. Messages of condolence may be made to
