Natalie Anne Conway

Conway, Natalie Anne, “Nancy” (Crouse) of Hudson, N.Y., age 82, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Sunday September 13, 2020. After graduating from St. Mary’s Academy in 1955, she completed programs at St. Catherine’s Infant Home and Colonna Beauty School in Albany. She worked in cosmetology for many years and applied skills learned at St. Catherine’s to her own family, becoming the best wife and mother anyone could wish for.

Preceded in death by her parents Robert and Natalie Crouse. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and devoted husband of 61 years, James D.,“Jim” Conway; daughter Kathleen Vasquez (Marc) of Frederick, MD; son James M. Conway (Kena) of Copake, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Meagan and Maura Conway; sister Carol (George) Kitchie, brothers Joseph (Laura) Crouse and Robert (Ellen) Crouse; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Following moves to Chicago, Ill. and Lynbrook, N.Y., Nancy and Jim returned to Columbia County in the 1960’s to raise their family. She was an active parishioner of St. Mary’s Church and school in Hudson, both of which always held a special place in her heart. She loved the sound of “young voices” and laughter in the house and her children’s friends, into adulthood, exchanged good-natured banter with Mrs. Conway.

She enjoyed needle crafts and formed a small tight-knit group who met regularly for laughs and tea, while creating treasured items for family and friends. She and Jim shared a love of music and belonged to the Philmont Community Chorus.

Nancy and the family have been deeply touched by the support of family and friends near and far. Words cannot sufficiently express their gratitude for the affection and kindness of her dear friend, Patricia E. Corbett, over the years.

Arrangements by Sacco Funeral Home, Hudson. A private Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Mary’s Church/Holy Trinity Parish, Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Greenport Rescue Squad or St. Mary’s Church/Holy Trinity Parish P.O. Box 323 Hudson NY 12534
