Michael ‘Mike’ Ransford

Michael “Mike” Ransford died peacefully, surrounded by family in Ghent, NY on Friday, May 13, 2022 after a battle with ALS. Despite his physical suffering, he maintained his bright spirit and greeted each day with hope and a smile. He was 61 years old.

Michael was born on November 16, 1960 to William and Annemarie Ransford. He married his loving wife Vicky on April 18, 1987, and they were married for 35 years. They raised their three children at Gallagher’s Stud Farm, in Ghent, NY, where Michael dedicated 40 years to doing what he loved.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, William and Annemarie Ransford. He is survived by his wife Vicky; his son Logan, with whom he shared his love for hunting; his two daughters and son-in-laws Ashlee & Jose Cruz and Keilah & Mathew Burnell; as well as five grandchildren, Karina, Lola, Evelyn, Jose & Lucia; and his four siblings, William “Billy”, Todd, Cindylee and John.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be sent, in his honor, to one of the following organizations:
