Michael Matthew Stanzione, age 63, of Earlton, died peacefully at home, Saturday, November 7, 2020, surrounded by his family. Michael was born September 28, 1957 in Yonkers, NY, the son of Katherine E. O’Shea Stanzione, and the late John T. Stanzione.
Michael was a graduate of Catskill High School, Class of 1975; and Johnson and Wales Culinary University in Providence, R.I. He was a 30+ years employee of Sabic Plastics in Selkirk. Michael loved his job and held many positions, before retiring in 2018 as a Process Specification QA Lab Tech.
Michael adored his family and cherished spending time with family and friends. He loved traveling and the outdoors; water sports, and hiking. He trained for triathalons and won many races including iron man. Michael was predeceased by his father, John T. Stanzione; his first wife, Vicki O’Bryon Stanzione; and a brother, Matthew Stanzione.
Michael is also survived by his wife, Kim Stanzione of Earlton;
His children and step-children, Christopher Stanzione, Nicholas Stanzione, Jessica Cashell, Anelyse Anderson, Aric Worland; grandchildren, Aubree Anderson, Antonio and Mia Stanzione, Avery, Mason, and Julia Cashell; brothers and sisters, John (Alissa) Stanzione, Joseph (Mary Ann) Stanzione, Madline (Albert) Green, Patrick Stanzione, Catherine Stanzione; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call 4-8 PM Wednesday at Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday at St. Mary’s Church, Coxsackie. Fr. Scott VanDerveer will be officiating.
