Michael J. Nero


Michael J. Nero 70, of Greenport, NY died at home on Tuesday May 18, 2021. Born in Hudson on September 27, 1950, he was the son of the late Anthony and Betty (Cole) Nero. He attended Hudson High School. Mike was an accomplished artist with his paintings displayed at the Smithsonian Institute, Cornell University, Baltimore Museum of Art and numerous other museums and galleries. His work is on permanent display at the Institute the Arts of Rice University and the Addison Gallery of American Art. He enjoyed hiking and camping in the Catskill mountains. He was employed at L&B Furniture, McGuires and Dynabil. He will be greatly missed by his 2 brothers Anthony Jr. and (Yetty) Nero and Thomas Nero, as well as his sister Nancy Nero and her husband Mike Burnell. Also survived by nieces and nephews: Nicole, Jason, Kimberly and Sarah. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his brother James Nero in 2020. A Memorial service will be 11am on Wednesday June 2, 2021 at the Sacco Funeral Home 700 Town Hall Drive Hudson, NY with Fr. Anthony Barratt officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery
