Michael A. Steeneck

Michael A. Steeneck passed away peacefully in the early morning of June 8th surrounded by his family after a long hard battle with illness. He was born in May of 1963 and grew up on his parents fruit farm in Clermont, New York. There he worked hard along with his 8 siblings. Michael enjoyed being outside everyday and was an avid hunter for many years. He loved to tell great stories and could always make you laugh no matter what the situation was. He was a tough man with a huge heart and he always saw the good in people. He always did anything he could for his friends and family.

Michael is survived by his 4 sisters, Elaine Langton of Feura Bush, Phyliss Steeneck of Earlton, Janet Steeneck of Hudson and Theresa Steeneck of Valatie, along with his brother Daniel of Elizaville. He was predeceased by his Father Charles Steeneck, Mother Margaret Steeneck, Brothers, Randy Smith and Charles Steeneck, and Sister Kim Clemmer of Mississippi. He also had 3 sons, Corey, Jordan and Sean in which he loved very much, and also his former wife Jennifer Steeneck of Germantown, the mother of their 3 boys. Michael also had 4 nephews, Myles Steeneck of Germantown, Adam Steeneck of Elizaville, John Clemmer of Mississippi and Edward Steeneck of New York City, and 2 nieces Nicole Steeneck of New York City and Shelby Purvis of Mississippi.

There will be no services per his wishes, we ask only to say a prayer for his family and to remember the great times you might of had with him. The family would also like to thank the Dr’s and staff of Memorial Sloan and Kettering of New York City and Community Hospice for all their help and support. The world did not lose a great man but borrowed him to show all of us how to be kind, caring and loving towards each other.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and who so ever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” -John 3:16
