Maureen E. Friss Colwell 84 of Hudson, recently of Philmont died peacefully Wednesday May 17, 2023 at Pine Haven Nursing and Rehab. in Philmont. Born in Hudson on June 13, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Elizabeth (Lyons) Friss. Maureen was a graduate of St. Peter Hospital School of Nursing and lifelong member of St. Peters Alumnae. She is survived by her son Patrick Colwell (Kristy) of Kinderhook, daughter Margaret McNamara (George) of Walden, NY grandsons: Matthew and Dylan Colwell, Matthew and Jack McNamara, several brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as her former daughters-in-law Beth and Linda. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husbands Paul James Colwell and Louis Conte and her sister Margaret Friss. Calling hours will be 9-10:30 on Saturday June 3, 2023 at Sacco Funeral Home 700 Town Hall Drive Hudson, NY. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 at the funeral home with Fr. Winston Bath officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Columbia County Humane Society in her memory.
