Prazma

Mary Prazma passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021.

She was born on July 28, 1957 in Hudson, NY to the late John and Theresa (Grant) Macfarlane. Mary graduated from Taconic Hills in 1975 and went on to receive an Accounting Degree from Columbia Greene CC. Mary served as a Personnelman in the US Navy from 1975-1979. Mary was the Human Resources Manager at Ed Herrington, Inc in Hillsdale, NY for more than 18 years where she took a genuine interest in each person, touching the lives of so many. An ardent supporter of the Columbia-Greene County American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Mary served as chair and co-chair for a number of years and championed a local team. A lover of hats, Mary was seldom seen without a bonnet upon her head.

Mary is survived by her children: James Prazma, Randy Prazma Jr., and Brooke Brookman (Nathaniel); as well as her grandchildren: Anna Prazma, Hannah Howes, Xander Howes, and Linkin Brookman; and her siblings: Bob Macfarlane (Janet), Jimmy Macfarlane (Joan), Richard Macfarlane, and Anne Macfarlane (Lucy); special friends Lisa and John Wolfersteig, Tony Caggianelli and Ken Korzeniewski, Fred Hickman, and countless nieces and nephews. Mary is predeceased by her sister, JoAnn Klugo.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The American Cancer Society or the Philmont-Mellenville Food Pantry.
