Mary Angela Doebler

CATSKILL - Mary Angela (DeCicco) Doebler, age 93, of Catskill, died Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing in Guilderland Center, NY. She was born June 15, 1929 in Saugerties, N.Y., the daughter of the late Frank and Elvira (Mayone) DeCicco. She was employed by the Greene County Treasurer’s Office in Catskill for many years prior to her retirement. She was a longtime communicant at St. Patrick’s Church in Catskill. Mary was a member and travel coordinator for a number of years with her husband Bill, for the Rip Van Winkle Senior Citizens where they toured many exciting parts of the country together. Throughout the years, she has always been dedicated to the family grocery business, neighbors, community and, most importantly, her family. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mary was predeceased by her husband William H. Doebler, siblings, Frank DeCicco and Joseph DeCicco. Mrs. Doebler is survived by a son, William F. Doebler and Kerry Hammel of Grand Rapids, MI; twin daughters, Joannie DiPerna and husband James of Catskill and Jan Hempstead and husband Brian of Schenectady; seven grandchildren, Carrie and Christopher Riozzi, Jillian Hempstead, Jimmy (Brittany) DiPerna, Jenna (Rob) Venneri, Jillian (Josh) Jenkins, and Alicia Doebler (Steve Lake IV) as well as eight great grandchildren; Morgan Venneri, Eva and Mia DiPerna, Naiya, Evie and Emmett Jenkins, Hannah and Steve Lake V. Mary’s wish was to have her body donated to Albany Medical College. There will be a private family service for her at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family intends to plant a memorial tree for both Mary and Bill. Anyone interested in donating may contact one of the family members.
