Madelyn E. Lambert Cordato

Madelyn E. Lambert Cordato was born in Hudson NY on March 2, 1946, daughter of Philip H Lambert and Marie Moritz Lambert, passed away January 10 peacefully at home.

A native of Greenport, Madelyn was a graduate of H.H.S, class of ‘64 and Hartwick College with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

While in high school, Madelyn worked on the family dairy farm and summers at Dairy Queen.

While attending college, Madelyn worked as an aide at CMH and upon receiving her nursing license started full-time as a Registered Nurse until her retirement in 2017.

Madelyn is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Cordato, son Joseph P. & Clara A. Hoyt Cordato, grandsons Joseph William, Anthony Michael & Matthew Jason, her brother P. Henry and sister in law Barbara Lambert.

She was predeceased by her parents and sister in law Loretta Tryon Lambert.

Visiting hours will be at Bates and Anderson Funeral Home, Wednesday 1/18 from 4-7 pm. Services at the funeral home will be Thursday 1/19 at 10:30 am. An interment following at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in lower Greenport.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 111 Humane Society Road, Hudson NY 12534.

Madelyn was one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of crossing paths with in life. She was a kind, soft-spoken, lovely person with a ready smile and a lifelong caring nurse. Sincere condolences to her loved ones.
