Lauren Marie Woodward

Lauren Marie Woodward, 27, of Charlotte, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 11, 2020, at her home.

Lauren was born in Charlotte, NC, on November 4, 1992, the daughter of Denise Woodward Pennington and Jeffrey Littleson. She grew up there and attended Northeast Middle School and Independence High School. She finished her education studying Healthcare with the USDA Job Corps. Most recently, she had been working as a licensed Security Guard.

Lauren enjoyed many things through the years. Trips to North Myrtle Beach with Grammy and Papa were always a favorite as were trips to the mountains, Tweetsie Railroad and Pigeon Forge, TN. Blessed with an ear and voice for music, she enjoyed singing and listening to many varieties of music with her favorite band being Insane Clown Posse. Every year she joined her friends for The Gathering of the Juggalos. Most of all, she loved the time spent with family and friends. Many a friend is still in music because when they felt like quitting, she encouraged them to stay the course and true to their craft. She even turned her uncle Woody’s musical tastes to Slipknot and would show up at the concerts where he worked security at the Fillmore in Charlotte, trying to get backstage. Though short, her 27 years were filled with a bright spirit and special memories.

Survived by her mother, Denise of Charlotte; her father, Jeffrey R. Littleson of Mooresville; uncle Rick “Woody” Woodward of Charlotte; Tom Woodward of South Carolina; and grandmother Joan M. Woodward of Charlotte. Lauren is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dick Woodward and her favorite dog, Zymba.
